Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

So, on Christmas Eve, we went to Mike's grandparent's house. Peyton got TONS of great toys and had a blast with her cousins!! Her perfect mom, me, forgot the camera... SOOO, no pictures. Sorry. We will take a ton when we get to my parent's house on Tuesday night. Here is what she wore to Granny and Papaw's house. This dress has some history... This was a dress that my mom had started to make for me. She never finished it though. So, on Thanksgiving, she pulled out the dress. Can you believe it, she kept it - for 30 years!!! She finally finished it and Peyton got to wear it on Christmas Eve. She looked so cute in it. It was the perfect dress, and I loved it.

This picture was taken on Christmas day - yes, no camera again. This was taken with my iPhone. This is Mike's sister's dog, Jake. He is part Golden Lab and Great Dane. He is HUGE and is the sweetest dog on the planet. Just look hoe big he is next to Peyton.

On a very sad note... My brother-in-law's father, Jack Heeney passed away on Christmas morning from complications from liver cancer. He was such a wonderful man and a role model for many people - including me and Mike. It was a bittersweet Christmas and will be for a few years. I know he is in a better place, but I wish he was here. My Aunt Jo sent me an email and really put it in perspective for me. Here is what she wrote:

"Yes, that makes for a very sad Christmas; but... he is now viewing Christmas from heaven! What better place for Jack! ...We just have to think of it from their view, hard as that can be."

WOW! That really helps. He gets the best view in the house! We miss you Jack, and we will see you again one day!

Merry Christmas!!!

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Holiday Season! The fun is really about to begin, and I can't wait... I haven't updated the blog in a while, so I thought now is as good a time as ever. Peyton is growing and changing with every day! She says please all of the time, well she signs please - which is really cute! She is talking and walking and in to EVERYTHING!!! Just crazy how quickly all of this happened. Just crazy! Here are some pictures we have taken lately. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

I love her cheeks!

Peyton with her BFF from school, Austin.
They have so much fun together!

The best friends a girl could ask for. We all got together the other night and had such a wonderful time sharing stories, eating paninis, drinking wine and just sharing in each other's company. I love each of these ladies with all of my heart, they are just wonderful and I am so blessed to have them in my life. Who would have thought I would find such wonderful friends here in Austin, but I did and I am so thankful. We had our Girl's Christmas on Thursday night at Courtney's. We gave each other "green" presents. It was so much fun and I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time. Thanks ladies, I love you!!!

This is what I found the other night when I was getting Peyton ready for her bath. I told her to go in the bathroom and I would meet her. When I got in there, she was splashing in the toilet! Me being a great mom, I ran for the camera! Priceless!

What I'm Doin' These Days

I don't have any pictures right now, but I will add some as soon as I can. I just wanted to update everyone on what Peyton is doing now that she is one. Here is a list:
  • She is walking everywhere and trying to run.
  • She has earrings. They look so freaking cute!
  • She wipes her nose when you ask her to do it.
  • She blows kisses when you tell her bye.
  • She has a pretty good vocabulary, it consists of:
  1. Momma
  2. Dada
  3. Papa
  4. GiGi
  5. Ball
  6. Dog
  7. Woof-woof
  8. Ah-ah (what a monkey sounds like)
  9. Hi
  10. Bye-Bye
  11. Holly Girl (it sounds like Hi Girl)
  12. Uh-oh
  13. Apple
At school, they are teaching her to sign. She now knows the signs for more, all done, and thank you. It is pretty cute :)

Peyton is getting more and more fun every day! She is so animated and makes some of the cutest faces I have ever seen. Mike and I are so proud of her and amazed by her with each passing minute. She has been such a joy in our lives and has only been here a year, but I honestly can not remember life without her. She is just the most precious and perfect thing I have ever seen in my life and I love her more and more every day! Life sure has changed in the past year, and I know that it will only get better and better!

Our First Halloween and Race for the Cure

HALLOWEEN~

This past weekend was full of Peyton's firsts. Friday was Peyton's very first Halloween! She was Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I thought the costume turned out perfect!!! I even got the antenna right! She had a red ornament with her when we went door to door. I also have other pictures on my camera - these are from my phone.

She was so excited!!!

See the resemblance???

RACE FOR THE CURE~

On Sunday, November 2, my mom, dad, Mike, Peyton and I completed the Race for the Cure. I ended up raising over $250. I was very proud. We were walking in memory of my grandmother Sara "Meemaw" Jackson. She passed away in September 2007. Peyton was named after her (Peyton Sara). We had a great time! Just check out Peyton's shoes!!! Mom and Dad - thanks again for coming into town for the walk, we really appreciate it and had a fantastic time with you guys!

Love the shoes!!!

Diva...

This was Peyton the other day at Dr. Joe's office. She has been feeling pretty crummy lately, so we went to see him. She grabbed my sunglasses, put them on and kept saying "OOOHHH." It was fabulous!!!

Playing and Pigtails

Last Thursday, when I picked up Peyton at school, Wanda had put Peyton's hair in pigtails! It was SOOOO cute! The other picture is what I found when Peyton was playing in her room. She was trying to get into her Bumbo chair by herself. It was really cute! Enjoy!

Cute girl!

Sad Day...

On Saturday, October 11, my Grandma Rose (dad's mom) passed away. She was 91 and lived an amazing life. She practically raised my dad and his two brothers and three sisters by her self. My dad's father passed away when my dad was 15, and my grandmother never remarried. This is a picture of her and Peyton. She will be greatly missed. But, I know that she is in heaven with many people and is probably having a cup of coffee and some biscottis with my Meemaw (she passed away last year).

Peyton's Baptism

On August 3, we had Peyton baptized at St. Thomas More Church in Austin. She was wonderful! No crying, she just laughed and squealed the whole time. She kept looking at her teachers, Wanda and Nikki, and would squeal loudly to get their attention and then just smile and laugh. It was pretty funny. We had everyone out to our house before the baptism and had lunch. All in all, it was a perfect day! Here are some pictures. Thanks Chris for taking them!!!

Here are some more pictures of Peyton. These were from Labor Day at the lake. The video is from a few weeks back at the lake... A right of passage for all grand and great-grand kiddos is bathing in the sink at the lakehouse. Peyton had a blast.

Nine-Months Old!

So, we are now NINE-MONTHS OLD!!! Can you believe it? We can't either. Here are some things that have been going on with Peyton and at the Lloyd household:
  • Peyton is crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!
  • Peyton took her first step on August 22. We were at the beach, it was pretty exciting!
  • She finally is putting on some poundage - she weighs a whopping 17 pounds and 2.5 ounces! That puts her in the 20 percentile. The doc said as long as she keeps gaining weight, he is happy.
  • She is TALL. I can't remember the exact measurement, but she is in the 75 percentile.
  • Her ears are A-OK. Her follow-up visit from getting tubes was a success. No problems!
  • Peyton has two teeth on the bottom. I think her top ones are trying to come in now.
  • Peyton has blues eyes and blonde hair. In the light, it looks strawberry blonde. I love it!!
  • Peyton says: MaMa, DaDa, PaPa, GiGi, baby and screams REALLY loud!! REALLY loud!
  • She loves sports! At least she will sit and watch football and baseball with mom and dad :)

It has been an exciting nine months, and it will only get better! I can't wait! Here are some pictures from things we have been doing recently. Enjoy!!

Peyton is ready for College Football! Go UT!!!

This was at our front door, she was trying to get my finger through the glass.
It was pretty cute :)

On Labor Day at Karla and David's. She was having fun in the pool.

Doesn't she look like the Wicked Witch of the East... HILARIOUS!!!

Funny face!
