Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

So, on Christmas Eve, we went to Mike's grandparent's house. Peyton got TONS of great toys and had a blast with her cousins!! Her perfect mom, me, forgot the camera... SOOO, no pictures. Sorry. We will take a ton when we get to my parent's house on Tuesday night. Here is what she wore to Granny and Papaw's house. This dress has some history... This was a dress that my mom had started to make for me. She never finished it though. So, on Thanksgiving, she pulled out the dress. Can you believe it, she kept it - for 30 years!!! She finally finished it and Peyton got to wear it on Christmas Eve. She looked so cute in it. It was the perfect dress, and I loved it.

This picture was taken on Christmas day - yes, no camera again. This was taken with my iPhone. This is Mike's sister's dog, Jake. He is part Golden Lab and Great Dane. He is HUGE and is the sweetest dog on the planet. Just look hoe big he is next to Peyton.

On a very sad note... My brother-in-law's father, Jack Heeney passed away on Christmas morning from complications from liver cancer. He was such a wonderful man and a role model for many people - including me and Mike. It was a bittersweet Christmas and will be for a few years. I know he is in a better place, but I wish he was here. My Aunt Jo sent me an email and really put it in perspective for me. Here is what she wrote:

"Yes, that makes for a very sad Christmas; but... he is now viewing Christmas from heaven! What better place for Jack! ...We just have to think of it from their view, hard as that can be."

WOW! That really helps. He gets the best view in the house! We miss you Jack, and we will see you again one day!

Since you can't see the color of Peyton's beautiful blue eyes in the "historic dress picture", she looks just like you! What memories this picture brings!
